Associate Product Manager

The Associate Product Manager is an integral participant in the development, implementation and support processes of NewRiver's e-delivery suite of products. The postition requires cross-functional teamwork with our Sales, Services, Operations, Technology, Marketing and Product Management groups. The successful candidate will have at least two years experience with software development lifecycle - either as a Project Manager or Business Systems Analyst. This is a growth role that is ideal for an individual with a "can-do" attitude and the ability to think creatively in the context of ambiguity, and who is ultimately looking to transition into a product management role.

Essential Duties/Tasks:

  • Gather and document client business requirements
  • Create detailed functional specifications based on client business requirements
  • Manage product issues and drive resolution of issues
  • Develop and maintain release documentation and conduct training for  Sales and Services on new features
  • Facilitate the product release process, including management of UAT and ensuring rollout readiness
  • Serve as the point of contact for the Product, Services and Sales teams for questions, and maintain the enhancements database

Knowledge of Industry, Product, and Technology:

  • Work experience in the financial services sector, including insurance, brokerage, or mutual funds
  • Demonstrable knowledge of software development lifecycle with proven track record of delivering projects or gathering requirements in this context
  • Broad knowledge of web-based applications and database technologies

Education and Other Qualifications:

  • MBA preferred or undergraduate degree from a top 50 U.S. academic institution
  • Experience working in the context of a business/technology consultancy preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven team leadership, project management, and group facilitation skills
  • Detail-oriented with excellent oral, written, and organizational skills
  • Motivated individual who can build relationships with stakeholders both horizontally and vertically across the organization
