Forrester Research conducted an online survey of 150 companies that sell mutual funds and annuities to find out how investor communications are likely to change if the short-form prospectus rule is proposed and passed by the SEC. See the press release and download the full report.

A study by the Investment Company Institute (ICI) found that only 34% of mutual fund investors consulted the prospectus before purchasing shares, and only 30% consulted the document to monitor their fund investments. 59% of recent fund investors consider mutual fund prospectuses very or somewhat difficult to understand.
